Description
The University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology (UMMP) invertebrate collection includes over 85,000 cataloged specimen lots and houses upwards of 3 million. These include Paleozoic invertebrates (particularly those from the Michigan Basin region), Mesozoic mollusks from the Western Interior Seaway, and Neogene mollusks from the southeastern United States. Additionally, 75% of the collection by volume is in the stratigraphic collection with approximately 50% being regional Middle Devonian material.
Records for a portion of the cataloged specimens are represented here. Please contact the U-M Museum of Paleontology for additional information regarding occurrence details.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 19,992 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
